Last weekend

I went into Tokyo last weekend to quietly celebrate my first anniversary in Japan. Here are some of the highlights:

Prior to my leaving for the weekend, I fukt up a haircut i was giving myself, resulting in me shaving my head.

I gave Tomoko a new Nabe pot (an earthenware pot for stews and hotpot dishes) as a house-warming gift for her new cozy little apartment in Tokyo.

On Saturday night, I ate more grilled beef in one sitting than any human being is allowed to.

On Sunday afternoon, I had lunch with Tomoko, Ayumi, Yuuki and Kotaro at a garlic restaurant in Shibuya.

Tomoko, Kotaro and I then went to a cafe for drinks and cake. Then we went to a Ramen (Chinese noodle) shop -- the same one with the Beatles songs that Araya took me to in September.

And finally we took in some karaoke, where I did my best Benjaman Orr, Bono, Thom Yorke, Elton John, Mick Jagger and Chris Robinson impersonations.

Oh yeah, there was my old friend Bombay Saffire to keep us warm, as the temperature was pretty frigid.

It's three days later and I'm still haven't caught up on my sleep.

Literally, I laughed, I cried, it was much better than Cats.
